Earth is like pottery… it’s fragile, spins around and makes a great gift.
“If any of you are around when I meet my day, I don’t want a long funeral. And if you get somebody to deliver the eulogy, tell them not to talk too long. Tell them not to mention that I have a Nobel Peace Prize, that isn’t important. Tell them not to mention that I have three or four hundred other awards, that’s not important. Tell them not to mention where I went to school. I’d like somebody to mention that day, that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to give his life serving others. I’d like for somebody to say that day, that Martin Luther King, Jr., tried to love somebody.” Narberth-based Maker Boards transformed this recent painting into a spectacular series of collectible planks. I’m not exactly sure how the decks are made, it has something to do with lasers and magic.
Blame the Devil it’s Monday.
Ah… the obligatory digital illustration of a duo of identical old ladies gorging themselves with sweets. Every artist has one.
Keep we in Halloween. Once again, I’m proud to have lent an eye and mouse to longtime comrades, MATTOWAX. Gone Tomorrow Here Today marks their third and most righteous studio effort. The design features a digital illustration by DragonArtz.

Zombies and Skulls and Worms, Oh My!Posted by: Todd Marrone in Digital Media, Dry Media
This concept sketch for Underground Arts depicts a drove of dirty dirt dwellers. Dig? It’s Orphan Week at toddmarrone.com. All of the images posted this week were designed for someone for something and ended up nowhere as nothing. Based on Frank Lyman’s Think Trix system of educational reflection and inquiry, I designed these flashcards for teachers to print, cutout and distribute. After a short reading, lecture, presentation etc., students would shuffle the cards and take turns randomly choosing. Each card prompts the chooser to digest, assimilate and react to the information in a different way. I sent the images to Mr. Lyman, assuming that he would applaud my efforts and invite me to dinner. He did not. |
