When a photographer buddy of mine moved into a new studio, I helped her spruce up the place.
Unless there’s a medicinal benefit that I’m not aware of, women should not wear necklaces on the outside of their turtlenecks. I’m just saying.
On a recent trip to the bookstore, I spotted a publication titled, “Chicken Soup for the Nascar Fan’s Soul”. In the big Venn diagram of life, this book targets the overlap between Nascar racing enthusiasts and motivational anecdote fans. A strange demographic, to say the least.

In the Summer of 2003, I appeared live on a local news program called “FOX Good Day Philadelphia.” At the start of the show I rolled out over 150 feet of blank paper in front of the studio building. Throughout the two and a half hour broadcast, I painted a sprawling composition that included likenesses of the newscasters, Philadelphia icons and viewer requests.
My contribution to the book, Canceled Flight by A.V. Jones. The text boasts “101 Tried and True Pigeon Killin’ Methods”, each illustrated by a different modern artist.
In 2003, a handful of faculty members and I decided to perform in the annual talent show. The band ripped through a bang-up version of James Brown’s “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag,” while I flung paint onto two 4’x8′ pieces of plywood via my trusty 1″ foam brush.
