My intention here was to create an image of a flower that was commanding, bold and impactful, maybe even a little intimidating.

I didn’t set out to create an iconic depiction of typical American commercialism, excess and sexuality, it just sort of turned out that way.
This work was heavily inspired by the visual stylings of Italian artist, Amedeo Modigliani.
