Join us this evening for the ressurection of Jazz Tactics. Tonight, my visual riffing will be an unrehearsed reaction to a DJ-reinterpretation of ‘Stardust’.
Based on the popular descending auction unveiled at last year’s “One Night Stand“, I’m liquidating my artventory during a three week show at Casciano Coffee Bar & Sweetery. A May 8th reception, including live art and music, kicks off the show. Framed paintings and large works on canvas will begin with a price tag of $600. Every four days, the prices will be cut in half. As the month ripens, the work will be less expensive and less likely to be available.
Longtime pal and collaborator, Bevan McShea, and I recently teamed up for another installment of Jazz Tactics. This time around, Bevan mixed, mashed and scratched audio from the 2001: A Space Odyssey Soundtrack while I spit out dozens of intergalactic, impromptu paintings. Later that evening, Bevan “Starhaven” Mcshea unveiled his newest album, Iron Light.
Enjoy a septet of snapshots from First Friday’s music and art reception, Passing the Torch. DJ Lightborn and the Levelheads supplied a healthy dose of auditory entertainment while Emmett and I tickled the eyeballs.
Keen toddmarrone.com fans may recognize that something is, quite literally, not right. I labored through these final two paintings using my non-dominant hand.
Enjoy a baker’s half dozen snapshots of last Friday’s live performance and reception at Sweet Mabel Gallery. In conjunction with Pathways to Peace’s annual “Pinwheels for Peace” celebration, I created custom collaborations in exchange for a small, charitable donation. Dozens of pieces will be hanging throughout the Fall including handmade tiles, framed drawings, hand-painted skateboards and customized books. Stroll in if you stroll by.
Ghosticorn Apparel and Formation Skateboard Company recently unveiled a handful of new, Marrone-designed, products during a reception at Spectrum Board Shop. In an effort to “mark” the event, I painted on windows, skateboards, shoes, strollers, jeans and anything else within reach.
Friday evening found me, again, flinging paint on the MilkBoy Main Stage alongside of prodigious ear-pleasers, The Hulihees.
Former college roommate, current creative collaborator and future bank-heist partner, Bevan “Starhaven” McShea, invited me to join him on stage during a recent acoustic performance. |
