Computer Embellished Drawing
It’s Orphan Week at toddmarrone.com. All of the images posted this week were designed for someone for something and ended up nowhere as nothing.
Based on Frank Lyman’s Think Trix system of educational reflection and inquiry, I designed these flashcards for teachers to print, cutout and distribute. After a short reading, lecture, presentation etc., students would shuffle the cards and take turns randomly choosing. Each card prompts the chooser to digest, assimilate and react to the information in a different way.
I sent the images to Mr. Lyman, assuming that he would applaud my efforts and invite me to dinner. He did not.

I am duly impressed with your work! In fact, I have included it (in part) in a graduate level paper and have given you credit for your creativity. I’m certain that if Mr. Lyman finds the time to truly look at the images, he will appreciate the higher level thinking that was required for such effort.

These tools are excellent. I applaud Todd’s efforts. I don’t remember his contacting me. Either I forgot or the message never made it. I would welcome an email message from him as I am about to publish a book on ThinkTrix this spring , and would want him to know about it ThinkTrix is a Rosetta Stone for thinking in the schools and deserves a key position in the paradigm shift toward enfranchising the minds of students at all levels.
