Former college roommate, current creative collaborator and future bank-heist partner, Bevan “Starhaven” McShea, invited me to join him on stage during a recent acoustic performance. Visitors have recently been cyber-gushing over the Father’s Day gift that I presented my pop. While the kind words are much appreciated, that was (at best) the second greatest Father’s Day gift to change hands in our family. My son, with the help of a crack team of studio assistants, created a painting for me. At five months old, he is already a better gift-giver and painter than I am.
The city is my sticker book.
The Mrs. and I recently staged, shot and assembled this little photo diptych as a Father’s Day gift for my dad. As you may have guessed, I’m playing the part of infant in the upper photo and proud papa in the lower photo. Perhaps someday Rocco will have a son, couch and camera of his own to keep up the tradition.
Last Saturday evening, Milkboy Acoustic hosted a reception for my month-long art installation, Withdrawn. The evening featured musical performances by my pals, The Hulihees and Mattowax. I painted live throughout both sets resulting in dozens of original works and a sore shoulder.
Last Sunday eve, I created this quartet of impromptu paintings to compliment the titles and lyrics of a handful Hulihees ditties.
Behold a series of snaps taken during a recent performance at Villanova University titled, “Moment of Art.” Marking my fourth year of delivering the presentation, the evening included a synopsis of my artistic process, collaborative painting with audience members and the creation of an improvisational mural based on a surprise musical selection. Perhaps you, or someone you love/like, would be interested in booking a similar event.
The Mrs. and I recently took our son, Rocco, on his first trip to Hooters. He seemed to enjoy himself so we are considering the chain as a destination for his future birthday parties.
Following in the footsteps of Kobayashi, Sonya “Black Widow” Thomas and Bobby Brady, I recently competed in my first eating contest. The Dragon (best known for his flashy costume and referring to himself in the third person) devoured 48 buffalo wings in five minutes. The event raised over $1500 for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Oncology Unit. Indigestion is a small price to pay to fight childhood cancer. |
