Acrylic on Paper • MilkBoy Acoustic

Last Saturday evening, Milkboy Acoustic hosted a reception for my month-long art installation, Withdrawn. The evening featured musical performances by my pals, The Hulihees and Mattowax. I painted live throughout both sets resulting in dozens of original works and a sore shoulder.

When Jessie Vander and I were decorating the bulletin board in the school, she wanted to sketch everything out in pencil first. I yelled at her, partially because I wanted to use the plethora of pretty Sharpies that we had, and partially because I was too lazy to do that much work.

How much of your work comes from laziness?

I wonder if the musicians are jealous at all the attention you are getting. Who is the audience really there to see anyway? You can close your eyes to hear music. But you my friend, you are entertainment!
